Guess what we found in our one backyard garden last month? Baby Bunnies! The one backyard veggie garden is fenced in, so we’re not sure how mommy rabbit is getting in and out. We went in to pick some peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers and almost stepped on them!
There’s a burrow right inside the fence near the cucumbers. The babies are brown so they blend in really well. Per their natural instincts….as soon as we were in there they froze themselves like statues and didn’t move. They’re small enough that you can hold one in the palm of your hand. Absolutely adorable! We didn’t touch them.
In total we saw 3 baby bunnies who look like they were venturing out of the burrow for the first time. About 15 minutes after we were down there Mom Rabbit comes across the yard. She sat outside of the fenced garden waiting for us to leave. After we were out of there she went in to be with her babies. Oh my gosh, so stinking cute!!!
I have never had bunnies in my backyard. Won’t they eat the vegetables unless you move them.?
we Had bunnies in our yard too but we were doing too much work for them to stay here. They are somewhere in the back section now.
