A few weeks ago we were down in Cape May, New Jersey. While we were there we walked over to the Cape May Harbor to check out the area. If you’re looking for a fishing charter boat or to go out dolphin watching…you’ll find various charter services available along with high-priced yachts.
On the day we were there…it was smoky and I mean SMOKY. It was in early June when the Canadian Wildfires were burning and the smoke made it down the northeast coast. You could see a thick haze in the sky and from time to time you could smell it. YUCK! It was fun to check out some of the boats that were docked there. You could tell that they were expensive boats.
We walked further down the street and found a restaurant and had dinner. There are several restaurants within walking distance. If you’re looking to do shopping you will want to head down into the heart of Cape May and visit the Washington Street Mall and surrounding boutiques. It’s a short drive…like 5 to 10 minutes depending on traffic.
After spending the afternoon in Cape May we headed back to Wildwood and went across the toll bridge that connects Wildwood to Cape May. Just before we got to the bridge I got a good look at the other side of Cape May Harbor and that’s when I spoted the U.S. Coast Guard Water Tower. That’s shown in the 2nd photograph.
I didn’t get any other pictures during our little afternoon adventure. The smoky haze made it difficult to get nice photos. Oh well, the next time we’re down we’ll explore that specific area a little more.
This looks like a nice day trip. I love visiting places like this so relaxing and peaceful.
