For this review we received a jar of the Small Town Cultures Raw Fermented Probiotic Sliced Jalapenos to try out for you. My husband, Big E loves hot and spicy foods…so he was excited to give the sliced jalapenos a try. These jalapenos are raw and fermented with probiotics. Ingredients are pure…Jalapenos, water and salt. Gotta love that!
A couple of nights ago we made Empanadas for a quick and easy weeknight dinner. To go along with them my husband whipped up a dip using chili sauce, a little bit of sour cream and the sliced jalapenos. He took them out of the jar and chopped them up into small pieces. Stirred them into the salsa dip and chilled the entire dip bowl in the refrigerator for 2 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
During dinner he dipped the Empanadas into the salsa dip that he created it. He said it was delicious! The right amount of heat…about a 5-6 out of 10 on his heat scale. He said if you like a lot of heat…then eat a few slices straight out of the jar to get more of a punch. The Sliced Jalapenos can be used to spice up anything…including your cocktail drinks!
What’s nice about using the Small Town Cultures Sliced Jalapenos in our recipes is that we don’t have to put on gloves and slice or chop jalapenos. If you’ve ever worked with fresh ones…you have to be careful handling them. These are ready to use right out of the jar saving you a ton of time with prep work.

My sons would love this since they enjoy foods that are spicy. Would not be for me but their red onions and sauerkraut look good.
