Every year my husband and I enjoy taking our kids down to Ocean City in Maryland for a family vacation. Ocean City is a popular beach destination in the northeast. It takes us about 4 hours to get there by car and we typically stay 4-7 days when we’re visiting. There are a ton of things to see and do!
You’ll find fun amusement rides for the kids to enjoy. A lot of families typically hit them during the evening hours, but we pick one weekend afternoon to go. Just a little bit less crowded and often times they’ll run money-saving deals if you go during the non-peak days/hours.
A few recommendations – Talk to your kids about staying with you and about stranger-danger. We have the talk EVERY TIME we take them to a busy public place. Dress appropriately for the current weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes. They shouldn’t be wearing bathing suits, flip-flops, etc. You want them to be comfortable and safe while riding. Have your kids stick to “age appropriate” rides for their own safety.
One ride that our entire family looks forward to every year is the merry-go-round. Yes, the merry-go-round! It’s one ride that we can all get on together and sit closely to one another. As we travel around from park to park we always seek out that park’s merry-go-round and it’s always one of the first rides we get on. We just love them! The one in O.C. Maryland is beautiful and we look forward to getting onto it every year as a family.
