Crafting using wood Scrabble Tiles has grown in popularity over the past few years. I admit, I like using them when I’m making personalized arts and craft projects like holiday ornaments, refrigerator magnets or adding a name to a picture frame. They’re versatile and you can use them all sorts of different ways.

When purchasing them…I recommend buying REAL wood letter tiles. Don’t get cheesy plastic or fake wood. By purchasing the real deal…you can paint and/or stain them to get customized colors. I like the thicker 4mm size as they’re more sturdy. Also…make sure that you buy sets that contain a lot of vowels and common letters like S, T, M, N, etc. If they come in a storage bag or container…that’s great too!
Here’s a list of a few Scrabble Tile craft projects that we’ve featured on the TCC blog.
* Personalized Scrabble Tile Wood Hearts
* Personalized Scrabble Tile Christmas Ornaments
* Handcrafted Birthday Greeting Cards
Three of the local arts and craft stores sell Scrabble Tiles for Crafts but I prefer to buy them from Amazon. Why Amazon? They have more sets for me to choose from, tiles made with REAL wood and of course…more affordable! If you have Amazon Prime…look for a seller that participates with Prime so you don’t have to pay any shipping charges too! A win-win!
