Homemade Strawberry Waffles Recipe with Freezing Instructions

I make a batch of homemade waffles for my family every 2-3 weeks. They’re easy to make and my kids love them! They’ll eat them for breakfast or as an after-school snack. They can easily take them out of the freezer and pop them into the toaster. Top with butter, honey butter, sliced fresh fruits, honey, maple syrup, or whipped topping. Homemade is a lot better than store bought!

Homemade Strawberry Waffles Recipe with Freezing Instructions

Freezing Instructions: Make waffles using a waffle iron. Lay them on a platter to fully cool. Place them into a large freezer bag or container. I like to place a sheet of parchment paper between each waffle to keep them from sticking together. Use them just like any traditional frozen waffles you purchase at the grocery store.

Homemade Strawberry Waffles Recipe

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1/4-1/3 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
non-stick baking spray

Preheat your waffle iron until it’s hot and ready to go. I like to lightly spray mine with non-stick baking spray.

In a large mixing bowl sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt until combined. In a separate mixing bowl mix together the milk, vegetable oil and large eggs. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture until everything is well-combined. Use a large mixing spoon and fold-in the freshly sliced strawberries until they’re distributed throughout the batter.

Pour the strawberry waffle batter onto your hot griddle (waffle iron), close and heat until it’s golden brown. Remove and serve immediately with your favorite toppings or let them cool to freezer for later.
