Stencil Ease Repositionable Spray Adhesive

Stencil Ease Repositionable Spray AdhesiveHave you ever tried or thought about stenciling walls or a decorative item in your home? If so, you need to secure that stencil so that no paint bleed-through occurs. A lot of people just tack up the stencil with removable painters tape. While that’s okay…it’s NOT the best thing you should be using. You will still get some bleed-through with it. Instead, I recommend using a repositionable spray adhesive like the one I’ve been using the past few months.

Stencil Ease Repositionable Spray Adhesive is the brand that I like and use. You only need to spray a light misting of the adhesive onto the back of the stencil to get it to stick flat against the wall or other smooth surface. I can pull it up and stick it back down several times before I need to “mist it” again with adhesive. It’s not clumpy like some of the others that I’ve used in the past.

Welcome Stencil Porch Sign Leaner

In my photographs you’ll see a porch sign that I’ve painted and stenciling a Welcome message onto it. It’s tacky but not overly tacky and leaves no marks or residue on the surface. Once you’re done using the stencil just rinse it underneath warm water to remove the paint and adhesive. Every once in a while I wash in a little bit of liquid dish soap and then rinse clean. I like to dry my stencils with an old cotton towel.

In the photo above you’ll see the purple painter’s tape which peels up and doesn’t keep the stencil flat against the surface. It puckers which causes the paint to bleed through along the edges of the design. Especially in smaller areas. In the photograph below…you’ll see the WELC that I stenciled using the Spray Adhesive on the stencil and I got nice clean lines with little to no bleeding of the paint. Yay!

Removable painter’s tape is okay…but you get a better stenciled design if you use a repositionable spray adhesive. I find the tape to be expensive and messy to use…all of that tape sticks on everything. With this…the only thing you dispose of is the can once it’s empty. Easy to use and more affordable! A little bit of spray goes a long way!!!

During the spring and summer seasons many of us like to do DIY home projects and DIY home decor projects…so I wanted to share this information with you in case any of your DIY projects include stenciling a design. I really recommend the use of a repositionable spray adhesive like the one from Stencil Ease instead of using painter’s tape.

I did not know that this product exited.. A repositionable spray adhesive like the one from Stencil Ease seems like a much better idea than using painter’s tape.
