Biannual Canadian Geese Migration

Biannual Canadian Geese MigrationTwice a year we look forward to the Canadian Geese stopping by our home for a few days on their biannual migration. During their migration they stop and rest up on our property for a few days before continuing on. Typically…they hang around for 2-5 days eating and resting.

We see this occur every year during late April and then again in late September. It’s always nice to sit outside on the front porch or back deck and watch them. They have no problem walking around our yard, hanging out in the street (as the photo shows) or taking a swim in our pool if it’s in September. They act like they know the place and own it.

The pair shown in that photo hung out together for 3-4 days before moving on. When I say together…together. They were like peanut butter and jelly…hence that’s what we named them! LOL I hope they got enough food and rest…and hopefully made it to their next destination safely.

It is always fun to watch the geese. We had a pair hanging around the neighbor’s yard for about a week and could see them when we walked by .
