Angel of the Sea Faux Sea Glass Tiered Tray Decor

One of the hottest farmhouse decorating trends has been tiered trays displayed on the center of your dining room table,  buffet table, kitchen island,  etc. You can purchase 2 or 3 tiered trays or make your own. These trays are used to display seasonal decorations and trinkets. I enjoy mixing up my seasonal displays with a combination of store-bought and handcrafted treasures.

A few weeks ago I sat down to make a few items for my Summer display. When making and/or buying your items you need to keep them on the smaller side and have a seasonal theme in mind. For my Summer theme…it will be coastal and beach related.  First up…my new handcrafted Angel of the Sea.  Here’s how I made her in just one afternoon.

Angel of the Sea Faux Sea Glass Decor

2 Wood Jenga Game Blocks
White Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Gorilla Glue
1 Piece Faux Sea Glass
2 Small Cowrie Shells
1 Round Floral Glass Stone
Gold Metallic Paint Pen

Use Gorilla Glue to glue the 2 wood game blocks together lengthwise. Let dry 1-2 hours.

Paint all sides of the game blocks with 2 coats of white acrylic craft paint, allowing for 30 minutes of drying time between coats. Once dry…time to decorate!

Use the photograph for placement of all items. I used faux sea glass for her dress, 2 small cowrie shells for her arms and the round glass florist stone for her head. Use Gorilla Glue or E6000 which work better than hot glue. The halo was made by using a gold metallic paint pen. Let everything dry for a few hours before displaying.
