1. Display Holder – Purchase a sturdy holder that can handle the outdoor weather elements and won’t easily blow away. It should be sturdy, semi-weighty, and weather resistant.
2. Rubber Stoppers – You’ll need one rubber stopper for each holder. These little stoppers prevent flags from coming off of the holder and flying away. A common problem during storms. They’re reusable and will last a long time.
3. Plastic Clips – These clips attach to the pole and clip onto the side of the flag. They will prevent the flag from flipping over and twisting up during a breezy or windy day.
4. Scotchgard Fabric Protector – Before displaying a flag you should spray it with Scotchgard to help protect it from the weather elements. This should be done seasonally if your changing out the design on a seasonal basis or 2-3 times a year if it’s the same flag you’re leaving out all year.
5. Flag Storage Organizer – If you own several garden flags and are changing them out frequently you’ll want to invest in a special storage container that is made specifically for them. It will keep them organized and clean when not in use. Look for one that’s affordable and doesn’t take up a lot of space.

I have just started using more decorative garden flags, so I am grateful for this post. My flags were flapping all over and flying off too! I put duct tape on the end to keep it on the stand, but that does not look pretty.
