Dollar Tree Tumbling Tower Blocks Calendar Refrigerator Magnets

Dollar Tree is one of my favorite places to shop at when it comes to buying craft supplies on the cheap! I love to craft but I’m not willing to pay a small fortune for crafting supplies. Almost everything I used to make these refrigerator magnets was purchased at my local Dollar Tree store. You can make several of them in one afternoon!

I like decorating the front of my refrigerator as the seasons change and as holidays roll around. These magnets don’t take up a bunch of storage space (store in a plastic shoe box also purchased from Dollar Tree) and switch them out as needed. The ONLY item I didn’t purchase at DT was the Gorilla Glue!

Lay out the Tumbling Tower Game Blocks in groups of three. Use Gorilla Glue (just a tiny dab) to glue all three of the blocks together. Make sure they’re all even and lay them flat to dry. It should take 2-3 hours.

The designs I used were cut from Wall Calendars that I purchased from DT. On the back of each calendar are preview images of the designs inside. Those little preview images are the PERFECT sizes to fit onto the blocks! Use scissors to cut them out. You’ll need to slightly cut them down to size to fit.

Use a foam brush to apply a layer of Modge Podge onto the wooden block. Lay the image on top and smooth it out to remove wrinkles and air bubbles. You need to lay the image down while the Modge Podge is still very wet. Once it’s flat and all bubbles are out apply a second layer of Modge Podge on top. It will look cloudy but will dry crystal clear. This will provide a protective coating on top of the image. Go around all four sides of the block with a light coating of Modge Podge. Let dry for 1-2 hours.

To finish them up you need to glue a magnet or magnets onto the back. Make sure you use strong magnets as you don’t want them sliding up and down the fridge door when it’s opened and closed. I used 3 small magnetic discs on the back of each one using Gorilla Glue to attach them. Let dry for 2-3 hours. That’s it, you’re done!
