Tumbling Tower Blocks Easter Bunny Decor

Tumbling Tower Blocks Easter Bunny DecorTumbling Tower Blocks are the Dollar Tree’s version of Jenga, the wood blocks game that is popular to play. You’ll find the mini Tumbling Tower Blocks in the children’s toys and games aisle at your local DT store. Don’t live by one? You can pick up a box of them from Amazon too. The wooden blocks are fun to craft with. We used 3 blocks to make the adorable Easter Bunny you see in the photo. Here’s how to make one which is similar to one that we posted last week.

3 Tumbling Tower Wood Blocks
Gorilla Glue
White, Black and Pink Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Burlap Ribbon
Scraps Light Pink Satin Ribbon
Scraps of Medium Pink Satin Ribbon
Florist Wire
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Stick
Small White Pom-Pom
Scissors
Wire Cutters
Modge Podge and Foam Brush

Hot glue doesn’t work well for gluing the 3 blocks together. I recommend using Gorilla Glue. Let dry for 2-3 hours. Paint the front, back and sides with 2-3 coats of white acrylic craft paint allowing for 30 minutes of drying time between coats.

While it’s drying work on the ears. I simply cut 2 tear drop shapes burlap ribbon. I used 2 scraps of light pink satin ribbon for the inner ears. Sandwiched between them is a scrap piece of florist wire. All of it glued together using a hot glue gun. The wire makes the ears posable and easier to attach to the top of the head.

Paint the 2 oval shaped black eyes, the pink heart shaped nose and the black little mouth. While that’s drying you want to cut small pieces of metal florist wire. The one that I had on hand was green, so I painted it black with 2 coats of paint. Once dry, I sealed the paint with clear Modge Podge and left them dry for an hour. Use the back end of a paint brush and dot on the white inner eyes. Let paint dry.

Once all of the paint is dry….use a foam brush to apply Modge Podge to the front, back and sides. One coat will do. Let it dry until clear and no longer tacky. This seals in the paint.

I used Gorilla Glue to adhere the painted florist wire Whiskers onto the bunny’s face. Let dry. Use a hot glue gun to add the bunny’s ears to the top of the head. Glue the medium pink satin ribbon around the bottom portion. Tie ribbon into a bow, trim the ends and glue that on top. To finish off, flip the bunny over and glue a small white pom-pom on the back to serve as the tail.
