Over the years I’ve used their Plantain and Yellow Corn Flours, Classic Bread Crumbs, Couscous, Garlic, Quinoa, and many of their spices & spice blends. In my honest opinion, they make some of the best baking and cooking products in the world!
Recently I had the opportunity to try the Pereg Shawarma Middle Eastern Style Seasoning Blend. It’s gluten free, GMO free, Vegan, and Kosher for year round use. This seasoning blend contains coriander, cumin, salt, turmeric, sweet paprika, allspice, and garlic crystals. It’s the perfect seasoning for grilling, used as a rub or for when you’re roasting meats and/or vegetables.
Chef’s Tip: Add tp a variety of BBQ and grilled meats. Also delicious on roasted vegetables. The serving size is a 1/4 teaspoon.
For the review and recipe…I decided to keep things simple. I know a lot of at-home cooks are looking for easy-to-make recipes that only utilize a few ingredients. This one is perfect for you!!! This seasoning blend is absolutely delicous! It’s not hot and spicy at all. A beautiful blend of flavors which is perfect for roasting or grilling chicken. Next week we’re going to try it on some vegetables!
Pereg Shawarma Roasted Chicken Recipe

Mist the chicken thighs or breasts with a little bit of olive oil. Place the Shawarma Seasoning Blend in a quart size bag. Place the breasts or thighs in the bag. Zip close and shake to coat all sides of the chicken. Depending on the size of your chicken pieces…you may need to use a little more of the seasoning blend to get them fully coated.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Place chicken in a baking dish. If desired, you can sprinkle a little more of the seasoning blend on top. Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes or until the chicken is done. Remove and let sit for 3-4 minutes before serving.
