Old Sled Works Antiques and Craft Market closed its doors for business back in December 2022 after being in service for 30+ years. The antiques and craft market was housed inside the old Lightning Glider Sleds factory building in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. A small town located about 30 minutes outside of Harrisburg in Perry County.
Every year we would go up there a few times to look around and shop. You could always find something to buy whether it was a handmade craft item or an antique. In addition to goods…you could grab a quick bite to eat while you were there. The market employeed several employees who lived in the area. Love visiting small town businesses like that.
Before they closed we headed up there for one last time for a look-see. On the day we were there we saw several antique cars, old vending machines, game machines, collectible figurines, antique furniture, old appliances, glider sleds, and hundreds of handcrafted goodies. There was something for everyone.
Now that they’ve closed their doors I wanted to share a few photographs with our TCC blog readers of what we saw during our last visit to the Old Sled Works Antiques and Craft Market. It’s always sad to see a mom and pop “type” of small business close its doors. It was a fun and educational place to visit that is now gone.
This looks like a lovely place to explore. I am sorry that so many small businesses have had to close.
I love places like this and am sad when they close down. It seems like there are always so many unique and fascinating things to see and learn about.
I am so sad that they closed after all those years. We have that happening a lot here too and it turns my stomach. This place looks like it was a lot of fun to go to. I would love to have one of those glider sleds thanks for sharing these great pictures.
