Recently I had the opportunity to try the Pereg Basil and the Pereg Dill. They’re salt free, gluten free, GMO free and Vegan. Both are certified Kosher making them perfect for Passover and year-round use. The Basil contains 100% basil and the Dill contains 100% dill. There are no fillers or additives! I used both in my Dad’s Classic Meatloaf Recipe which is below. Delicious!!!

Chef’s Tips for Basil – Perfect in salad dressings. Also great for seasoning soups, stews, and sauces. Try shaking some over fried eggs.

Chef’s Tips for Dill – Add to salads, dips, yogurt, fish dishes, or potatoes. When cooking with dill, add at the last minute to maintain the flavor. It’s perfect for pickles too!

Pereg Basil and Dill

Dad’s Classic Meatloaf Recipe

2 lb. lean ground beef
2 medium eggs, lightly beaten
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, plus one teaspoon
1 1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard Powder
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp. Pereg Basil
1/2 tsp. Pereg Dill
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup beef broth
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1/4 cup ketchup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine beef, eggs, onion, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard powder, ground black pepper, basil, dill and the bread crumbs. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. With well-washed hands add beef broth to mixture and knead until fully blended. Oil the inside of the loaf pan and add meat mixture, patting until evenly distributed. In a small bowl, mix ketchup and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce. Spread on top of meatloaf. Bake for 45-55 minutes

If desired: You can squirt additional ketchup across the top of each loaf during the last 5-8 minutes of baking time.
