A Nature Walk for Exercise and Fresh Air

Finally…the weather is starting to warm-up and the days are becoming longer. Spring is finally here! Now is the perfect time to put on your walking shoes and get outside for some exercise and fresh air. After all…summer and the heat will be here before you know it.

During the spring season we enjoy going out on nature walks around the tri-state area. We stick to well-known walking areas and always stay on marked trails. You should never go out walking alone! Furthermore, always let someone know where you will be and when you expect to be back. Have that designated person check on you to make sure you returned safely.

When we go out on a nature walk we carry a little backpack along with us. Inside our backpack you’ll find a little first-aid kit, sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottles, plastic rain poncho (if the weather will be iffy), over-the-counter pain reliever, a mini flashlight, pepper spray (for security), protein bars and a few other things. Yes, we like to always be prepared!

In my post today are 2 photographs from a recent nature walk while down in Cape May, New Jersey. We were at the Cape May Light House and behind the lighthouse is a nature area with a walking trail. It was a beautiful walk and nice to be outside in the sunshine and fresh air.

These are the best kind of walks. I love to get in tune with my natural surrounding and it always seems to help me feel better.

These kinds of walks were always my favorite thing to do in my younger days. My niece tries to take her daughter (6) to different places around our area.
