Beautiful Canadian Geese on Their Annual Migration Path

Beautiful Canadian GeeseWe live in south central Pennsylvania and twice a year we’re treated to visits by Canadian Geese on their spring and fall migration path. We will often hear them flying by (they can be noisy) and sometimes they’ll take a break in our backyard!

In the springtime we will see them flying north starting in late April through the month of May. Then when the Autumn season rolls around we see them again from early September through October heading south. When we see them…they’re always in groups of  at least 10 or more. We’ve seen some flocks numbering 25 or more!

Beautiful Canadian Geese

Every year we look forward to seeing them. I’m not sure “why” they’re attracted to my backyard, but they are! In the springtime we load up our bird feeders, bird baths, and start our veggie garden. Then in the fall…we will often see them in our garden snacking on whatever is left. Plus, I think they feel fairly safe…we don’t have dogs or other animals running around on our property.

I’m looking forward to seeing them again this Spring. The photographs in my post are from last year during the springtime season.

I love watching Canadian Geese. There seems to be a lot to find in your backyard.

  2. I so love watching Canadian Geese flying in formation. That is so neat that they like your backyard they are so pretty.
