We live 15-20 minutes for the largest airport in central Pennsylvania. We often see jets and airplanes taking off and landing. My children get a kick out of seeing them flying overhead. So, it’s not really anything new in our area. However…
A few weeks ago we were outside in the backyard and a loud thundering noise started approaching from the sky. At first we couldn’t see it (trees blocking our view) and then all of a sudden a LARGE jetliner appeared. What made this different is that is was the LOWEST one we’ve ever seen and definitely the largest! I don’t know if it was a commerical airliner, military jet, or what…but very LARGE in size.
We stood there watching it for about 8 minutes as it circled around 3-4 times. I was able to grab a photograph of how low it was…and you can see a large oak tree and utility pole underneath it. My husband came out of the house because he heared it and said our windows were vibrating inside.
I can report that it landed perfectly fine over at the airport but it sure was strange to see one that low and that size. We often see commerical jetliners, private planes, etc. going in and out…but this was definitely different.
We also live near an airport so we will hear and see low flying jets and other types of air planes too. -just as low as the photo you showed here.
That is flying low. Our big thrill is in the summer when we can see the Blue Angels doing their practice loops over our house.
Looking at the picture first though was runway was coming up. Kinda scary and wonder why there was nothing in the paper on line regarding the low flying plane.
That always makes me so nervous when the airplanes fly that low. Great picture you got of it not sure what kind it is either.
