My wife and I enjoy going to the theater a few times every year to see a Broadway or Off-Broadway Show. We used to make the 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive (each way) up to New York City to see the shows but for the past 3 years we go to the Hershey Theatre which is a 15 minute drive.
Back in late July we had a date night. Yes, I planned it. I took her down to the theatre to see Anastasia and then out to dinner afterwards. She had been wanting to see Anastasia for the past 2 years and finally saw it. If you enjoy musicals, I think you would really like seeing Anastasia too. It was well written, acted, entertaining, and the musical & dance numbers were fantastic.
During the show we’re not permitted to have our cellphones on, no recording devices, and definitely no cameras, including the ones on our phones. So, we can never get any great photos. As soon as the cast came out onto the stage for the finale I was able to grab one quick photo from our night. Sorry it’s not the best photo. Everyone was getting up out of their seats to applaud, dance, and/or snap a quick photo!
We had a really nice time and have already pre-purchased our tickets for 4 more shows that are coming up over the next few months. Always nice to get out and have a good time with your spouse.
I do enjoy musicals , but I have not gone to the theater in a long time. I should see if one of my friends would like to go to see one with me.
I think it is a good idea to not allow cell phones and recording devices to performances. It gets to be too distracting. Going to a play is a great idea for a date night.
I enjoy live theater like this. Don’t get there very often, but it’s so fun when I do.
