7 Surprising Benefits of Bowling

October 20, 2022 by Sam H.

7 Surprising Benefits of BowlingBowling is fun and provides many health benefits. It improves hand-eye coordination, reduces stress, and improves flexibility. It’s easy to learn and adapt to new circumstances. 95% of bowlers believe the game helps them with many aspects of their lives.

Improves hand-eye coordination

Bowling  is one of the many sports that will enhance hand-eye coordination, balance, and strength. Bowlers must keep their bodies balanced to throw the ball down the lane and use their eyes to hit the pins accurately. The bowling ball must be thrown, and pins must be struck with superb hand-eye coordination. Focus like this promotes mental vigilance, concentration, and tactical planning. Because of this, bowling is the ideal activity for young and older players to develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Reduces stress

Bowling is a fun way to relieve stress, strengthen relationships and even fight depression. Many studies have proven that spending time in nature reduces anxiety and improves mood, and bowling is an excellent form of exercise for both the mind and body.

Improves flexibility

One of the most significant benefits of bowling is that it improves flexibility. This is important because the game requires a wide range of motion, especially in the arms and legs. Increasing flexibility will help you avoid injury and keep your joints and muscles healthy.

Boosts metabolism

Bowling is an activity that can boost your metabolism and make you healthier. The repetitive movement of throwing, lifting, and releasing the bowling ball can burn up to 270 calories per game. Moreover, the sport helps in lowering cholesterol and increasing bone density. In addition, it improves circulation and blood flow to the body.

Bowling increases your metabolism, which aids with weight loss. Even though the game is only playable in a confined space, the continual movement you engage in while playing aids in fat loss. Walking back and forth and lifting and swinging the bowling ball down the alley both train your legs and other body parts.

Lowers cholesterol levels

Bowling is a low-impact exercise that improves cardiovascular health and reduces cholesterol levels. It also stimulates the release of endorphins, which are suitable for the heart and reduce the risk of heart disease. The repetitive movement of the arms and legs while bowling also improves circulation and boosts the body’s immune system. Bowling also improves mood and encourages social interaction, which increases the production of endorphins, hormones that promote good feelings.

Improves circulation

Bowling is a fun activity that improves circulation and is also suitable for mental health. It can help you release stress and take a quick break from your daily routine. In addition, it is excellent for the social aspect of your life and can activate your brain by allowing you to interact with others.

Lowers blood pressure

Bowling is one of those activities that have several health benefits. One of those is the reduction of blood pressure. Bowling helps lower blood pressure in people who have high blood pressure. The blood pressure decreases two hours after bowling. However, some safety precautions should be followed when going bowling.

I didn’t know bowling had so many health benefits! I used to have a lot of fun bowling, but I haven’t been in a long time. It would be great to go with my daughter sometime soon!

We have taken our grandkids bowling and it is as fun an experience as when I was younger. I remember the bowling alley having many people smoking, so I am happy that there is no smoking now.
