My 2 kids went back to school 2.5 weeks ago. It’s been a struggle getting used to our new schedules. My son gets up easily in the morning while my 13 year old daughter is hard to get up and moving around. To help our morning routines I make all breakfasts and after-school snacks on the weekend to save time. I make pancakes, homemade waffles, etc. and freeze them. They the kids can pop in the microwave or toaster oven in the morning. I lay out all of their clothes the night before and backpacks are loaded up before they go to bed. Sigh, I think it will take another 2-3 weeks until we’re back into our typical school routines.
I can well understand how hard it can be to get into the school routine. My granddaughter just started kindergarten and we are all adjusting to that schedule.
My great niece started kindergarten this year and she also had a bed time. But she is not bad to get up in the morning because she always has because mommy has to go to work., And Zay goes different places to either her grandmothers or a couple of different aunts.
I can understand that. I used to make my kids go to bed and get “school times” two weeks before school started. They hated it but it made my life easier when school started. They were all ready in the routine of getting up and eating that early.
