Mom Deer and a Baby Fawn

Mom and Baby DeerBack in June I took this photograph of the back of our property line and forgot to post it! I wanted to show you the Mommy dear with her new baby! You have to look close in the tree line to see the baby which looks to be about 2 months old at the time…maybe a little less.

Female deer are called Doe and the babies are called Fawns. The baby still has a lot of “spots” on it so it’s definitely a young one. They’ve been stopping by our property for several weeks to hangout, eat, and get a drink from the local nearby stream. Mom does a great job at keeping the fawn within the tree line so we never get a clear look at it. What a good Mom!

We love when wildlife like this visits our property. This is the first time in several years since we’ve had deer stopping by. Too cute!

We too have had deer coming by different parts of the property, sometimes with young ones , but never this young. It is always a delight to see them.

My brothers lives out in the country and in their home the family room is in the ground floor. They have 2 big windows looking out into the yard. The deer come right up to his windows and look in. They like to hang out in the yard lots to eat and lots of trees.

  3. We have those too. They are so sweet to watch. This year I think they had them in the neighbor’s area. There is a fence so I won’t see the fawns in my yard until they are bid enough to jump the fence.
