The North Wildwood Seawall is one of the prettiest places to walk on the entire Wildwood island. It’s a paved seawall and an easy walk, handicap accessible too! There are places along the seawall where you can sit down and enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean, the beaches, and the Hereford Inlet.
While walking on the seawall you can see some of the shore birds that live in the area. We’ve seen herons, egrets, various species of seagulls, turtles, etc. During the mid Spring season we’ve seen seals come up onto the beach. If you stop to sit in one of the gazebos you can often times catch a glimpse of dolphins swimming by…especially during high tides.
Dogs, bicycles, skate boards, roller blades, etc. are not permitted on the seawall during the in-season times of the year. The Seawall is meant for runners, joggers, and walkers…and those who want to gain access to some of the beaches in North Wildwood and Anglesea.
The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse sits right along the wall and right behind the lighthouse you’ll find wood benches that you can sit on. That’s where you’ll get some of the prettiest views of the ocean. The lighthouse is FREE to visit their outdoor gardens but do charge an admission fee if you want to go inside the lighthouse.
It is a beautiful walk down the north wildwood seawall. I love the photos that you have taken and are showing seawall..
This looks and sounds like a great place to visit. I like that it has places to sit down and rest awhile. Also that no bikes, skaters etc are allowed on it. We have a walking trail, used to be the old railroad tracks and it is along the river. BUT we have biker, skaters etc and you never know when they are coming up on you.
What a nice place to visit. Thank you for the pictures.
