What is a Michelada? Some people would describe it as a Bloody Mary made with beer instead of vodka, but it’s so much more. In Mexico, the traditional michelada, also known as chelada, consists of a light-bodied beer seasoned with fresh lime juice, served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass, which goes down easily on a hot summer day. But many variations exist, and there are many recipes.

Twang, the Latino-owned company that has pioneered beer salt’s acceptance for people all over the US, has made “dressing your beer” a common practice. They have created a whole new meaning for salt-rimmed cocktails with their beer salt and Michelada mixers.

Twang Reserve Michelada Cocktail Mix

Let’s start off with the Twang Reserve Michelada Mix in the Pickle, Spicy, and Classico flavors that I received for this review. What’s really cool about these mixers is that all you need to add is the beer and salt. They’re made in small batches with all natural ingredients like 7 vegetable juices, organic Worcestershire sauce, real lime juice, ancho chilis, and their unique blend of seasonings. If you want easy cocktail mixers…these are it!

Twang-A-Rita Cocktail Salt

The Twang Twang-A-Rita Salts are the perfect salts for rimming your cocktail glass. These are premium rimmer salts that come in a wide variety of different flavor blends. They’re easy-to-use and come in resealable packets, so you can take out what you need, reseal it, and use them again later.

How to Use: Place salt on a plate. Wet the rim of your glass with fruit juice, and then rotate the rim in the salt.

You can buy the flavor profiles separately, but I highly recommend getting a sampler pack. In mine I received 7 flavors: Unwind Lime, NectarBerry, CitruSplash, Paloma Love, Sunrise Spice, Pickle, and Safari Spice. Oh my gosh…they’re all delicious! My personal favorites were the NectarBerry, Pickle , and Safari Spice. My husband enjoyed the Unwind Lime and Palmoa Love. My Dad was all over the CitruSplash and Safari Spice. My mother liked the Paloma Love and my BFF Sara said she’ll take them all!

Twang Beer Salt

The Twang Beer Salts are premium flavored salts used to dress your favorite beer. They come in a wide variety of different flavor profiles. They’re easy-to-use and I love how they’re packaged!

How to Use: Sprinkle salt onto your beer bottle, can, or mug of your favorite beer. Simple as that!

My husband is a big beer drinker and enjoys trying out different beers. We often visit micro-breweries and do beer taste-testings. We received the Twang Beer Salt in the following flavors: Cucumber Chili Lime, Grape Fruit, Pickle, Michelada, Lime, and Lemon Lime to try out for you. Some flavor profiles are part of Twang’s main line of products while others are limited edition.

Twang Pickle Flavor Beer Salts

My favorites were the Pickle, Grapefruit, and Michelada while my husband was all over the Cucumber Chili Lime, Lime and Lemon Lime. I guess he’s a lime “type” of guy. My dad liked the Pickle and the Grapefruit. My mom and grandmother enjoyed the Michelada and Lemon Lime. This is why you need to buy sampler packs so that everyone can enjoy their own personal favorites!

We do a lot of entertaining throughout the holiday season and during the summer season when we host backyard barecues. These products make at-home entertaining easy!!! What’s really nice is that we can take the cocktail and beer salts with us when we’re traveling or enjoying a night out. They’re the perfect size to toss into my handbag, travel bag or pocket.

Head on over to Twang to check out their full product line. We love these products and will definitely be loading up on them as we need them. Highly recommend them to you! You can connect with the company on Facebook, Twitter, and on Instagram.
