With inflation and in today’s economy…just about everyone that I know is looking for ways to save money. So, what kinds of things are you doing to save money and to get through the current inflation crisis? I’ve changed grocery stores and have been trying to get off-brands when I shop. Heck, I’ve found several off-brands that we like better (taste wise) than their name brand counterparts. When it comes to retail stores I find myself hitting the clearance racks even more. I try to not pay full price for anything. Insteading of buying greeting cards, gift wrap, gift bags, etc. in stores that only carry that kind of stuff…I’ve been buying it at Dollar Tree.
I too have been using Dollar Tree and Dollar General more than in the past. try to buy grocery items only on sale and sometimes in larger quantities which I then freeze. I have a separate freezer in my garage.
We are eating a meal of something made of dried beans…. Beans and rice, beans and cornbread, lentil soup…. just something out of the slow cooker that does not have meat. One day a week helps. I have time… so I am making more from scratch. I make smaller size meals so there are no leftovers.
I have to agree dollar tree is the best . great niece(5) loves doing crafts when she spends the day with me. Sometimes she does 2 or 3 canvas picture at a $1.25 you cannot beat the price. Grocery WAY back sstore brands etc were all I could afford. Today there are things that I am not buying store brands others things that is all I buy store brand. I always look for price deals. Love the day old etc products from krogers.They are half prices or more. I get the bread and bag 3 slices of bread per in the freeze bags. Taste like it just came from the store.
