This will be the last week of summer school for my son. He’s will be starting 1st grade the end of August. Due to Covid and the China Virus school shutdowns…they offered summer school for FREE to parents in the district. I sent him so that he can catch up and also to keep my summer daycare costs down. It was a great decision as he only had 12 kids in his class and he really learned a lot during the 5 week course going 3 afternoons a week.
To keep my kids busy during the summer school break we’ve been doing a lot of outdoor activities. Walking, hiking, camping, swimming, mini golf, etc. I think it’s important to keep kids busy and limit their electronics during the summer break. Way too many kids sit in front of TVs, computers, or on their phones. Drives me nuts!
My great great nephew lives in TN and his school district offered 3 – 3 week classes on reading and science. He really learned a lot and had fun. My great great niece in WV starts kindergarten the middle of August. So there parent are keeping them busy with summer stuff
I am glad they offered the classes. So many children are behind in school.
I agree that it is wonderful to keep kids busy during the school break. Summer school is a great idea if offered.
I always enjoy the arts and crafts posts. I am curious about the gourmet coffee and snack foods. It was great that your kid did so well in summer school.
