July 27, 2022 by Carol

New Zealand Honey Co. Raw Manuka HoneyNew Zealand Honey Co. offers a complete line of Manuka Honey,  a complex and high-strength raw honey from the native New Zealand Manuka tree. If you’re unfamiliar with the product,  Manuka honey is a powerful, natural superfood, full of essential vitality and optimized for life. It’s gluten free and Non GMO.

* Complimentary product received for review.

I recently had the opportunity to try out some of the Manuka Raw Honey and was very impressed!  The day that it arrived I had been fighting a massive sinus infection and sore throat for 2 days. On top of that, I was exhausted. I had heard that Manuka Honey had proven benefits in aiding the healing of wounds, helps stop itching from insect bites, aids in soothing sore throats, and can help you obtain overall better health.

Their product is made in New Zealand and contains High MGO (263+), scientifically tested, and independently verified. Serving Size is 1 Tbsp. which contains 70 calories, 0g of fat. It’s UMF Certified (Unique Manuka Factor), an important accreditation representing authenticity and the highest testing standards for any honey in the world.

Over the course of 5 days I enjoyed using it several different ways.

* In my hot tea as a sweetener and sore throat soother.
* Spread on a peanut butter sandwich (in place of jam or jelly).
* Spread on a toasted English muffin.
* Drizzled over a dish of vanilla bean ice cream (better than hot fudge).
* If you’re a coffee drinker, put some in your coffee in place of a sweetener.

After the 5 days I definitely was feeling better. My sore throat was gone and the sinus drainage had finally dried up. My energy was returning. I do feel that it helped me get through it. As an added bonus, I loved adding it to various foods and beverages. It’s easy to incorporate into your daily diet with no pills to swallow! Let’s face it, we don’t need more pills…natural or otherwise!

Their honey is some of the best I have had. I used it to ease a sore throat and as a light spread on toast. Delicious.

I had a sample of Manuka honey once and I have to say it was really good. And would love to have a jar but it is very expensive.
