Large Wooden Outdoor Cat House Catio Enclosure
We have an indoor cat named Romeo. Our boy will be turning 3 years old in September. He loves to sit in front of all of the different windows in our home and spend time in our enclosed sunroom. He’s yearning to get outside but that would be dangerous for an indoor only cat.

Last month I saw a Large Wooden Outdoor Cat House Enclosure on Amazon and decided to buy it. This enclosure allows our cat to spend time outdoors and to be safe while out there. It will come to you unassembled, but I found assembly to be easy. I had it all assembled in one afternoon. They’re available in a few different colors.
It’s quite large in size measuring 71″ by 71″ by 38″ in size. You can definitely use it with more than one kitty inside. There are 6 different wooden platforms for your feline to climb up, lay down or just hangout on. There’s no bottom to it, so you want to make sure it’s on a secure surface, so that they don’t dig underneath it and get out. We keep our’s on our cement patio with a roof overhead. I’m going to make a wood platform to fit underneath it line with faux grass for comfort. That’s my next project.
The walls are made out of a sturdy wire mesh which allows the air to circulate through and the sunshine to stream on in. Things that all kitties love! There’s a door on the front with a latch so that you can place your furry ball of love into the enclosure. Our boy has actually learned to come to the door when we want to get him out.
Once I get the platform designed and built…we’re going to add some additional toys and features to keep Romeo busy while he’s in the enclosure…along with a cat napping bed. You can really customize it any way that you like once you have it constructed. If you’re going to keep them in it for any length of time I recommend a comfortable bed, a food dish and water dish to be placed inside.
Romeo wasn’t sure about it at first so we started out with 15 minute play sessions in his new Catio Enclosure. After 3 days he was loving it and felt totally secure in it. He really enjoys going outside in his new enclosure to soak up the sun and breathe in the fresh air. I highly recommend these things if you have cats and want to give them SAFE outside play time.
