Hand-Painted Faux Sea Glass Nightlights
Let’s face it…most of us have those classic nightlights somewhere in our home. They’re basic and get the job done but don’t look that pretty. I decorate in a coastal beach style and wanted inexpensive nightlights that work within my home’s decor. I decided to pick up a 3-pack of the classic ones from my local Dollar General Store and paint them!
You can make your own Homemade Sea Glass Paint quickly and easily at home. You can check out my previous post with directions and photos on how to make it. To save electricity, I bought the ones that have a sensor so that it will automatically turn on and off. You can buy them at Dollar General or on Amazon for a great price.
Take the plastic cover off of the light. You’ll need your bottle of homemade sea glass paint and a paint brush. I opted to use a bristle brush so that I could get into all of the little grooves on the plastic cover. You want to paint the INSIDE of the cover, not the outside using a thin coat of paint. Let dry and then apply a second coat. Let thoroughly dry.
Once it is dry you simply pop it back onto the nightlight. When the light is on it will look slightly like a different color…even prettier when the light is on compared to when it’s off. I really love how they look! You can do them in any color that you would like.
