Are you a fan of homemade applesauce, but looking for something a little bit different? Got an abundance of fresh peaches on hand that need eaten up? If you answered YES to either of those questions, I’ve got a great recipe that I’m going to share with you.
For the most part, I don’t list exact ingredient amounts in the recipe because it will depend on how many peaches that you use and how big those peaches are. I sweeten it with granulated sugar along the way…according to my own taste buds. When selecting peaches, you want them to be ripe, but not overly-ripe, free from any bad spots.
Slow Cooker Homemade Peach Sauce Recipe
20 to 30 fresh ripe peaches
1 to 2 teaspoons lemon juice
granulated sugar
water
Remove skin from peaches. Remove pit. Chop peaches into pieces and place into your slow cooker. Add just enough water to cover them. Stir in the lemon juice. Cover and cook on high for one hour, reduce heat to low and cook for 3-4 additional hours. You want the pieces to be soft and mushy.
Use a slotted spoon and “fish” them out of the water, placing them into a blender container. I personally like using my Ninja. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Pour puree into a large saucepan. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and granulated sugar according to your own taste buds. We like it pretty sweet. Simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes. All of the sugar should be dissolved and sauce should slightly thicken. Once done, turn off heat and let cool.
Once cool pour into containers and store in the refrigerator (for up to 5 days) or in the freezer. Yes, it freezes well! If freezing, you’ll want to thaw it out overnight in the refrigerator before using.

I love peaches, but I have never made peach butter. This is a recipe I should try and should use my slow cooker too.
Peaches are one of my favorite summer fruits. Noticed they are on sale in the stores this week so a good time to buy and make this recipe. I would freeze a few batches for later.
This looks and sound so good. I am not a canner but I would be please to accept a jar or two 🙂
That sounds great. I have not thought of Peach Butter. I bet it is good. Thank you for the recipe.
