Indonesian Popcorn Recipe

Indonesian Popcorn RecipePopcorn. It’s one snack food that me and my kids never get tired of eating. Why? Because I keep it interesting by using different herbs, spices, and seasonings. There are hundreds upon hundreds of different ways to season your popcorn!

Today’s guest post recipe is courtesy of the great folks over at popcorn.org. It utilizes Banana chips, peanut butter, and spices for a southeast Asian flavor. If you’re looking for something different, this is a recipe you’ll want to try. It makes approximately 5 quarts.

Indonesian Popcorn Recipe

5 quarts popped popcorn
1 cup dried banana chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground garlic
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Combine popped popcorn and banana chips in a roasting pan. In a small saucepan, stir together peanut butter and oil until blended; add seasonings and heat. Pour peanut butter mixture over popped popcorn and toss to coat. Heat in 300-degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes, stirring several times. Remove from oven and let cool. Store in a food-safe storage bag or airtight container.
