Top 10 Causes of Road Rage Accidents

Road rage accidents mostly happen when a fellow driver provokes you, and you get revenge or act in a manner that will hurt him also. This behavior leads to many accidents or even ramming of each other’s cars due to the rage. Road rage also leads to swerving in and out of traffic, tailgating, honking, driving on road shoulders, brake checking, and wrong overtaking. Whenever you find yourself in this kind of an accident, you will require a road accident lawyer to help you file a lawsuit and get compensation for the damages

Causes of Road Rage Accidents

The most common causes of road rage accidents stem from personal issues and road conflicts. Described below are some of the most common ones on the roads today.

Anger Issues

When someone has a bad temperament, they get easily angered by other people’s habits or words. Once the anger rises, you may want to harm the other person or act like them to feel satisfied.

Long Tiresome Journeys

Whenever you drive for many hours and are tired, you will most likely be irritable. Other drivers’ actions may cause you to get angry and let out your frustration in the wrong way.

Lateness

Late people are always in a hurry and may even have road rage if they see you are hindering their fast arrival. In their lateness and anger, they may begin over speeding, tailgating, and shoulder driving.

Heavy Traffic

Heavy traffic causes frustration to almost everyone, especially if you want to get somewhere early. This is usually a perfect scene for those with road rage. You will see people honking, swerving in and out of their lanes, and shouting at others to move out of the way. If their patience runs out, they may choose to drive on the road shoulders.

Anxiety and Impatience

Impatient people do not have time to wait for the right time to overtake. They get angry at anyone delaying their exit and may start weaving in and out of traffic. Their actions become very risky, and they, in turn, anger other motorists.

Anonymity

Many people are rude to their fellow motorists because they do not know them and will probably never meet them again.

Emergencies

Whenever you have an emergency, you would not want anyone to stand in your way. Other people may also not understand your rush, and you may enrage other motorists with your speeding.

Unfamiliar Roads

When a motorist doesn’t know the road to take, they may slow down or hesitate to take turns. This pause on the road may anger those behind you and cause them to ram into you, honk at you or even throw insults. If you are not calm, you may escalate the problem and cause an accident in anger.

Vehicle Problems

When your vehicle malfunctions on the road, you may cause some traffic snarl-up before you take it to the side of the road. This brings a lot of tension between motorists, especially if those following you don’t know what is happening.

Distracted Driving

In this generation, you will find many drivers using their phones or doing other activities while driving. This may lead to careless driving, which may provoke other drivers on the road to anger.
The best cure for road rage is remaining calm and choosing not to engage in a battle of words or revenging silly actions. However, a good road accident lawyer will help you if you find yourself in a messy situation.

this is a very good list………………… YOU never know what is going to set a person off.

Years ago I pulled out on main road off a side road, and yes I looked but I had time. I noticed a red truck close to me as I was driving. Pulled in to my home area and he kept following me. I stopped and got out and stood by the car. He got out of the truck and called me everything but a child of god. Because I made him spill his BEER when he had to apply his breaks. I told him lets call the cops and tell I made you spill your BEER while you while driving. He got back in his truck head out of the window still calling me names. road rage
