How many of you enjoy getting out and shopping at local yard sales and/or flea markets? We typically go the flea market once a month during the spring, summer and fall seasons. I can find all kinds of great bargains at our local flea!
Last weekend a friend of mine told me that her neighborhood was having a community yard sale with over a dozen families participating. I decided to stop by to see what kind of deals I could find. Well, I found a few!
I love using baskets around my home to get things organized. They also make great containers for my household plants. I found a large round Longaberger Basket for only $10.00 and it came with the plastic liner. I snatched that up! I’m making a succulent garden and will be placing it into that basket once I’m done. Longaberger baskets are collectible and expensive…even on the secondary market.
The next one that I stopped at had a large box full of yarn. Some of it was acrylic yarn and some of it was cotton. All of the skeins were brand new, never used. I’m guessing there were 15 to 18 skeins in that box. The lady sold me the entire box for $4.00. Wow! I’m lucky if I can buy one skein at the craft store for $4.00 on sale! Wahoo…great deal! I like to knit and crochet afghans, scarves, and hats for the family.

You got a great deal on the Longaberger basket! I’ve been to a few yard sales these last couple weeks and have found lots of great deals, mostly on clothing and baby items.
Have not been to yard sales in over two years. I always loved going early and finding bargins. And then checking back with a few of them to see if they have any good left over marked down
We don’t have flea markets here in our area but I have been to a few in Los Angeles that were amazing. I haven’t found any great deals lately but I am always on the lookout. I love the basket that your purchased and that is a great deal on the yarn.
There are no flea markets around here. I wish there were since they are fun. I did get some hanging baskets and used a coupon plus they were having a special 2 for 1 on fuscias. The hummingbirds are happy.
I have not gone to yard sales in a long time. I try to find bargains online or sometimes discounted at the store.
I have not found much lately. I have a friend giving me two tomato plants today. That is nice. I found a bag of apples at the store for $2. I thought that was a good price for small red apples. When I unloaded the bag, I had 6 red apples, 3 green apples, and 3 grapefruits. Wow, what a deal. I am happy.
