Afternoon Fun at Hersheypark Riding the Rides

Kids at HersheyparkEvery year my kids get a seasonal pass to Hersheypark for Christmas. They then start counting down the days until the park opens. During the month of May they run limited hours during the weekends, pre-season for the upcoming busy summer season. Late spring and early fall seasons are the best time to go if you want to avoid the crowds and long lines.

Hersheypark is the largest amusement park in central Pennsylvania. It has several large rollercoasters, bumper cars, kiddie rides, water rides, cars that you can drive, the world-famous kissing tower, etc. You can even catch a mini show while you’re there. If you paid admission into the park that includes free admission into the adjacent ZooAmerica, a small north American zoo.

Throughout the park you’ll find (paid) games that you can play and other activities with a fee. There are several on-site places that you can grab a bite to eat or shop one of the gift shops located near the entrance to the park. There’s a lot of things to see and do.

If you’re planning a visit you’ll want to plan an entire day, so that you can do everything that the park has to offer. If you live in the area going for a few hours at a time is perfectly okay, but for tourists you’ll want to be there for the entire day.

Our family visits the park a few times every year thanks to the seasonal passes that we purchase. During the late fall and holiday seasons the park will offer special events that you can visit too. Those events are typically held on the weekends.
