Lardera Coffee Roasters offers four single-origin medium roasts, all sourced directly from Costa Rican farmers. Its “direct from farmer’s” advantage bypasses brokers and middlemen. This allows Lardera to source the freshest beans whiles ensuring that the farmers receive the largest percentage of payment. Each farmer is highlighted with their own unique “know your farmer” profile. Read about how they got started in the industry and what makes their coffee worthy of the Lardera name.

For this review I received four bags of coffee beans to try out for all of you. Here’s a little big about each one that I received.
* Tipica Honey – A solid, well balanced cup with lingering notes of citrus, red apple, and pear. It’s from the Central Valley, in Costa Rica from the Herbazu farm.
* Catuai Anaerobic – Fruit bomb with lush notes of cherry, black currant, passion fruit, and cocoa. It’s from the Tarrazu, Costa Rica from the San Isidro farm.
* Catuai Honey – Complex notes of juicy clementines, tart cranberries, and ripe pomegranate. It’s from Tarrazu, Costa Rica from the Don Mayo farm.
* Kenya Washed – Layered notes of juicy citrus accented by sweet sugar cane and milk chocolate. It’s from Central Valley, Costa Rica and the Herbazu farm.
Each 2 oz. bag comes stamped with the whole bean roast date. All of mine were stamped 2/24/2022. You can’t get much fresher than that…certainly if you’re buying coffee from the grocery store shelf. I used my electric coffee bean grinder to grind up the beans. As soon as you open each resealable bag you’ll get a nice coffee “whiff”. I personally love the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning.
I personally thought all 4 flavors were fantastic and each one had a unique taste. None had a bitter after-taste at all. If I had to choose 1-2 favorites I would select the Catuai Anaerobic and Tipica Honey. While my son-in-law really preferred (and loved) the Kenya Washed. I would definitely buy all 4 flavors that we tried.
