I have long, thick, and curly hair. I take great care of my hair using professional hair care products and styling tools. It takes me a minimum of 30 minutes every day to just do my hair, so I’m always looking for innovative products to help cut down the time it takes to get ready. That’s why I was excited to give the CHI Air Setter a try.

For the purpose of this review I took photographs of my 71 year old grandmother using the CHI Air Setter 2-in-1 Flat Iron and Curler in her hair. She has shoulder length hair that is thin and coarse in texture. Nice to try the setter out in 2 different type’s of hair.

This is the BEST flat iron/curler that I’ve ever used! It’s nice that I don’t have to own 2 different hair appliances and when I travel…I only have to take one along with me! One of the things I really like about it is that my hair doesn’t get snagged inside it. It glides right through. Next, I like that I can use lower heat on my hair which means less damage. There are 5 preset temperatures for you to choose from.

If you have problems with your hands or smaller hands…don’t worry, you can use it too! I’m petite with very small hands and it fits comfortably in my hands. As you can see in the photographs my 71 year old grandmother with arthrytis in her hands was able to use it too. My 13 year old daughter used it (with my help) to add spiral curls to her hair last week. I recommend you assist your young teens with it.

Finally, I really appreciate the 1 hour auto shutoff. I’m a busy mom to 2 children and at 6:00 AM my morning is mad rush! I have 2 kids to get ready for school, a family of 4 to feed and get out of the door, plus I have to get into work. It’s nice to know that if I forget to turn it off…it will automatically turn itself off an hour later. Wonderful safety feature!
