If you don’t live in Bangkok although you are going on holiday or need to travel for business purposes then you’re probably going to want a nice motor to get around in, after all, a huge part of the culture is all about status. You may already be looking to hire a car of some kind anyhow, so when you compare the overall costs associated with a ‘run of the mill’ hire car against something like the cost you’d pay to rent a sport car there isn’t that much in it. Although, the benefits between the two are massive. Whenever you’re hiring something, it should be approached from a value for money standpoint, of which this is a perfect example.

When comparing your options, there are actually more unique varieties of cars available for hire under the sports car umbrella than there are puppies to adopt, nearly anyway. It’s a wonder why anybody would hire anything any different. You have the choice of going for top brands like Porsche, Mercedes, BMW etc, the list goes on, not only that, you have the choice of going for fully fledged petrol monsters, diesel varieties and even a mix of electricity thrown in for good measure too.
The great thing is, that the choice is yours, it’s all about personal preference and what you like. For most people though, when they are hiring a sports car, it has to be something that grabs them, something a little bit different from the rest. Of which you will surely find because they all have their own set of unique features.
A symbol of status
As mentioned above, status is a big thing in Thailand, there is a big divide between the rich and the poor which is evident to see when your whiteness families of homeless people begging for food or money, sleeping on the streets outside a multimillion-dollar mall or shopping centre ladened with very expensive, high-class motors in the parking garage.
It is such a big deal that there are an untold number of Thais who will rent, or buy something that they perhaps cannot afford but, they make the purchase anyway because of how they think others will perceive them. If you’ve got a smart car then you must be doing alright for yourself? You could go one of two ways, play the humble card and travel on the government buses to travel around on or, join the so called ‘winners’ and get yourself a really smart sports car that will turn just as many heads as you stepping onto a government bus.
