Popsicle Stick Magnetic Photo Frame Kid’s Craft Project
This kid’s craft project can be made using wooden popsicle sticks or craft sticks. You can buy unpainted sticks (and paint them) or purchase them in fun colors from your local art & crafts supply store. We made these magnetic photo frames in one afternoon with kids ages 5 through 12 years of age.

For the one shown in the photograph we used 4 unpainted wood craft sticks, craft glue, round buttons that coordinate with the color of the frame and magnets. Here’s how we made them:
Paint the wood sticks with your desired paint color. My grandson selected a metallic bronze color since he wanted to give his photo frame to his dad. You will need 2-3 coats of paint to get the desired coverage. Paint the front, sides and backs of each stick. Let dry.
Lay them out in a square pattern as shown in the photograph. Use craft glue to glue them together. Glue a button in each corner. He selected 4 round buttons that coordinated well with the paint color he had chosen. Let dry for about 2 hours. Flip it over and glue magnets on the back.
Note: We used commercial grade magnets on the photo frame. The magnets that you select have to be strong due to the weight of the wooden sticks and buttons. We purchased a pack of them from Amazon and use them in the majority of our craft projects.
