Valentine’s Day is on February 14th and many of us will be preparing a special dinner at home while others prefer dining out. As the mom of two children and Valentine’s Day following on a weeknight, we’ll be dining at home.
This recipe is perfect as a special Valentine’s Day dessert or for any special romantic occasion. It incorporates dark chocolate, strawberries, and sour cream keeps it on the healthier side. The guest post recipe is courtesy of our friends over at Share the Pasta.
Chocolate and Strawberry Angel Hair Pasta Recipe
2 oz. angel hair pasta
1/4 cup – 2 oz. bittersweet chocolate 70% cocoa, perhaps mint- or orange-infused
6 Tbsp. – 3 oz. reduced fat sour cream divided
1 1/2 and 1/4 oz. dark brown sugar, divided
1 cup – 4 oz. 8 each strawberries finely chopped strawberries
2 tsp. finely chopped mint for garnish, optional
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions. Drain and reserve.
Place the chocolate in a microwave-proof bowl and melt it in 15 second increments until melted. Stir in 2 TBSP of the sour cream and 1/2 tsp. of the dark brown sugar. Reserve.
Stir together the remaining sour cream and sugar. Reserve.
Check the chocolate sauce. If it’s cool and stiff, heat it again in the microwave for 10 seconds. Toss with the pasta. Divide between 4 bowls.
Top each portion with reserved sweetened sour cream and 1/4 of the strawberries. Sprinkle with mint, if using.

I never thought to use angle hair pasta with chocolate. I would like to try this recipe.
Looks so lovely and bet it tastes delicious with the melted chocolate. I would use mint infused and bet that would be so good in this recipe.
Very interesting concept. Never had pasta in a dessert before.
This looks beautiful but I have to admit I have never though or saw pasta used as a dessert. I will give it a try one day
