My almost 13 year old daughter took an interest in various arts, crafts, and drawing 2 years ago. Since I can’t afford one-on-one instruction or classes for her, I’ve been providing her with how-to books and materials which have been a great way to help her learn. She’s creative and gets her creativity from my mother. I don’t have a creative bone in my body.

Draw Manga Style is a great beginner’s book. It’s easy to read and easy to follow all of the instructions the artist/author has laid out in the book. There’s really no learning curve at all. Within a few hours my daughter was drawing her first characters and was pleased with the results. Like anything, the more you practice the better you become.

The how-to book and guide can be used by older children, teenagers, and adults at any drawing skill level. The section she is really enjoying right now is the section on how to draw Manga heads and facial features, particularly the eyes. She’s taking her time as she works through the book and every time she sits down to draw her designs are getting better and better.
