Frugal Finds – After Holiday Home Decor Bargains

January 9, 2022 by Shelly

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsEarly last month I hit the Dollar General Store to pick up some last minute gift wrap and stocking stuffers for Christmas. To my surprise, they still had 1/2 of an aisle of Autumn items still in the store and guess what? They were all marked down 75% off. Yes! That’s my kind of sale!

Here’s what I picked up and you’re not going to believe these prices!

I got 2 outdoor Autumn themed doormats. In the photo they’re the ones that say Grandpa’s Pumpkin Patch on them. They’re printed on the front with a nice rubber backing. Each one came down to $1.80 each. Wow!!! Both are going to look nice next year sitting in front of our front and back doors. Can’t beat that price!

Also in that photo you’ll see 2 indoor throw rugs or indoor mats that say Hello Pumpkin on them. On clearance I got each for $1.59. Oh my gosh! I grabbed the last two of those too! I think they’re super-cute and I’m going to put them in my kitchen next year when the Autumn season rolls around.

Every year I enjoy changing up our home decor according to the season and that includes my outdoor yard art and garden items. At Dollar General they had this adorable Autumn Pumpkin yard stake made out of painted metal. It was marked down on clearance to $1.25 so I picked that up too.

Not shown in the photographs – I was able to snag 3 packages of Autumn themed paper plates, plastic bowls, and 3 packs of paper napkins. I’ll use them all when entertaining next year. I got each package at 75% off and paid no more than .70 cents each. Oh yeah, I got 2 Autumn themed kitchen tea towels for .50 cents each too! I almost forgot about those!

I walked out of DG paying only $12.74 for everything that I bought on clearance! I love when I find bargain deals like that! I have everything packed away for next year. Have you found any really good bargains lately? If so, what did you get?

You got some great deals! I usually get my holiday purchases when they go on sale and save them up to use the next year.

You can’t beat the prices on all those wonderful home decor items you scored. The yard stake is so cute and colorful. Last spring on a whim, I picked up 4 packets of flower seeds for $1.00. I had some of the best and healthiest plants from those seeds than any expensive ones I have bought in the past.

Good bargains you got! First I would have to go to the stores, which I am not doing right now. And I really don’t need any decorative items.

Wow, you really scored a great deal. I am not going to stores right now because of the contagious quality of this COVID variant. I miss the great deals one could find in the stores. Oh well, next year I shall do more!!

You totally scored!!! I LOVE those indoor mats that you got for only $1.59. Heck I love everything that you got. The closest Dollar General in our area is an hour away in each direction so I never go there. I was able to get some Christmas cat toys and Christmas chocolates marked down 75% the other day so each was like .25 I was super happy about that. I usually get new slippers at the same store every single year after Christmas but this year they didn’t have any.

This sounds like something I used to do. After any holiday I would be right there picking up bargains. Today I just don’t have room for all that stuff so I don’t go and let other get those great bargins.
