Building tents out of blankets is something that all young children enjoy. When I was growing up my brother and I would spend hours draping blankets across the furniture and coming up with elaborate tent designs. We would then play in them and often times sleep in them later that night. It was always a lot of fun…until it came time to tear them down and clean them up!
As an adult I’ve enjoyed building a lot of blanket tents for our daughter who is now 35+ years old and our two grandchildren age 6 and 12 years of age. Those tent making skills that I learned as a child came in handy when I started having children and grandchildren. They call me the EXPERT designer! LOL
Blanket Tents aren’t just for kids. They’re for cats too! Our 1 1/2 year old kitty, Romeo loves for us to make him little tents and caves all over the house. We rotate the rooms and where we make them. To keep things neat and tidy, we use small throw blankets instead of full-size blankets. He loves to go into them and curl up for a nap. He will sleep for hours in a newly made blanket tent!
The photo shows our handsome guy trying to catch a nap in one that I made on his Daddy’s lounge chair. It’s his favorite chair too!
My grandkids have enjoyed making their blanket tents too. Sometimes when my grandson is tired but doesn’t want to nap if we build a blanket fort, he will end up getting some much needed sleep in his fort. Your cat is a cutie and looks like he has a big personality.
Romeo looks very cute. Cats love for us to make them special places where they can curl up and rest.
For Non-Cat people they would not understand this at all. Our fur babies have us trained to do special things for them. I always draped a throw over the back of the couch and then over the arm rest. They have a big space to rest/sleep in. I also would drape the throw over the arm of the couch and spread it on the floor. Just a couple of their favorite spots
My sister’s dog loves tents to take naps under. He like them in the winter to stay warm while he guards a chair and looks out the window.
That is so cute. I had a cat who liked to be under the blankets on my bed.
