3 Things You Can Add to Your CoffeeCoffee lovers, unite! This piece is for you.

If you are a fan of your daily coffee, cannot get by without it, or need it like you need to breathe, then you have probably tried a few combinations of coffee drinks in your time.

If you have just discovered the joys of coffee in your life, you might be wondering what else you can add to it to create magical combinations. Whichever camp you are in, there is a good chance you can learn something new from this piece and switch things up with your hot cup of java. Read on to find out what you might just be missing out on.

Butter

If you have not heard of ‘bulletproof’ coffee, then you have now. The idea is that you give your body fat to run off in the mornings, which is said to help curb your cravings and your appetite, encourage higher energy levels, and encourage the burning of fat when you are on a low-carb diet. While this might seem like a strange combo, many have raved about it tasting luxurious and offering sustained energy throughout the day. So, if you enjoy a low-carb lifestyle already, it might be worth looking into to see if you can be converted!

Another option over butter is coconut oil, so if you do not eat dairy, then there is still an option for you!

Ice Cream

If you are a coffee lover but have not heard of the Italian dessert affogato, you are absolutely missing out. This delicious concoction can be eaten like a pudding, which is vanilla ice cream in a bowl or a plate with an espresso poured over. This can then be eaten with a spoon. If you are just after a luxury coffee, then adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream straight into your coffee as a sort of creamer is definitely a treat worth trying. Thicker coffees can also be much easier for those with dysphagia to swallow. Though, if you are in this position and you do not want to alter the taste of your coffee, then you can use something such as a SimplyThick liquid beverage thickener to help give you the consistency you need to drink it without changing anything you love about a traditional coffee taste.

Spices

Adding spices to your coffee is a particularly good addition for winter, as many of us need all the warming help we can get. Not only can some spices offer excellent well-being properties, but they can also give a really warming and complementary taste to our favorite coffee beverage.

Consider a sprinkle of cinnamon, some pods of cardamon, or even a pod of nutmeg to literally spice things up. And do not be afraid to mix and match to find new favorite combinations! If you find that your coffee becomes a little more savory or bitter than suits your palette, feel free to sweeten it up with nature’s gift – honey.

I have added spices and ice =cream to coffee, but y=this is the first time I have heard about adding butter. It sounds strange, but I shall have to give it a try.

  2. I suppose these would be good additions to coffee. However I do not like coffee. I might try a small scoop of ice cream in my tea…..
