Every year I like to put up my Coastal Cottage Beach Themed Christmas Tree and this year was no exception! It typically takes me 2 afternoons to get the tree up and all of the ornaments onto it. The majority of my coastal Christmas ornaments are glass (breakable) so I have to unwrap each one from bubble wrap and place it onto the tree.
For the past few years I’ve been using a 5 foot tall pre-lit Christmas tree. It used to hold all of my lovely ornaments. One thing that I realized this year is that I need a new tree. A bigger tree! So, as soon as the holidays are over…I’ll be shopping for a 6 1/2 foot tree for next year. I want to get a really nice pre-lit one that offers both white lights and multi-color lights all on one tree. Then I can switch up the light depending on my mood.
The tree topper is by Kurt Adler and is made up of beautiful capiz shells in the shape of a star. I love the look that it gives…so classy! To add a little sparkle I added in 10 silver metallic glitter faux pine picks that are sprinkled among the branches. A lot of my ornaments are heavy, so I have to use quality ornament hooks when hanging them on the tree.
As you can probably tell I stick to a cohesive color scheme to make it all work. Aqua, silver, white, turquoise, pale blue, sandy tan, etc. You won’t find pops of traditional red and green on my tree which would stand out like a sore thumb! The skirt is white with a silver metallic glitter pattern. I have 2 snowman sitting on the skirt.
I’ve been collecting Coastal Beach Christmas Tree Ornaments for about 20 years! It took me 7 or 8 years to get enough to do an entire themed tree. So far, I’ve got about $3,000 invested into my ornament collection if not more. I quit keeping track about 2 years ago and every year I buy a few more new ornaments to add to it.
Anyway, I wanted to give all of you a little peek at my Coastal Beach Themed Christmas Tree this year. I think it’s beautiful!!!
It is a beautiful Christmas tree with so many coastal themed ornaments and a lovely color scheme. It will be interesting to see how different tit looks on a bigger tree next year.
Lovely as usual. I like all the shells on the tree. And I agree, you need a bigger tree….
It is beautiful and it is a wonder that it does not take you longer to set up. Each one you unwrap must have a memory.
It is so beautiful thank you for sharing. You have some really pretty ornaments and I love the color scheme.
