With all the information about child development and the types of ways to enrich the life of a baby, it can be difficult to determine what is useful and what is necessary in the early stages of infancy and beyond. From listening to music from a young age to providing toys to help with motor skills, there are a lot of options when it comes to picking toys for a young child. In the list below, we will discuss our favorite types of baby and infant toys.
Toys for Infants
When it comes to toys for infants, it is important to find toys that help stimulate their growing senses. From rattles to picture books, there are many options to help babies learn and develop.
Toys that make noise like rattles or music makers are a great way for infants to recognize different sounds and how they are made. From toys that play different nursery rhymes to stuffed animals that make noise when they are squeezed, noise-making toys are a favorite of ours.
Toys that can be looked at like picture books, toys with mirrors, and even toys with lights are a great way for your infant to look and see different things. Toys like mobiles and even light displays for the ceiling are perfect for nighttime or naptime.
Toys with texture like rubber balls, fuzzy stuffed animals, and even books with different materials are great for your child to reach for and play with.
Toys for Toddlers
Toddlers need stimulation in order to help them improve their motor skills and give them the tools they need to begin their journey into adolescence. From toys that help with walking to toys that help them learn, we love toys that are both fun and enriching.
Toys like walkers, toy shopping carts and toy vacuums can help little ones focus on having fun while building up their coordination and leg strength. Anytime we can give toddlers a chance to expend a bit of energy is also a plus!
Toys like readers and music players help toddlers learn something while having fun. From digital reading tools that help toddlers sound out syllables to music players like toy radios and karaoke machines, these toys help toddlers retain and remember information like memorizing songs or learning to read.
Toys like baseball gloves and bats and even basketball hoops or pianos are great toys for building hand eye coordination and aim.
From toys that help our little ones grow to toys that give our toddlers some fun, there are many toys available to help enrich the lives of our youngsters.
I’m sad that I no longer have any little ones to buy for. These are good suggestions.
I agree with how important it is to find a toy to stimulate their senses, their minds and their physical abilities. My 4 year old granddaughter has been kept away from school and other people because of this pandemic, so her parents and I try to find ways to teach and stimulate her.
Thanks for sharing this one it was really informative to read. I am shopping for a toddler this holiday season and this was super helpful. I will look for something like a shopping cart or a vacuum those are great ideas.
