Every year we like to take our grandchildren down to Hershey to visit Hershey Sweet Lights. If you’ve never visited before…it’s a drive-through Christmas lights attraction. They open around Thanksgiving and run it through the first of the year. It’s one of the nicest ones in our area.
It will typically take you 30-60 minutes to drive through the entire thing depending on when you go. If you go early in the season the better. The closer you wait to Christmas the busier they get. One year it was overly-crowded and it took us 75 minutes to get through.
They charge you per vehicle, not per person. With that said, it can still be pricey starting at $40 per vehicle and up. To help set the Christmas spirt you’ll want to play Christmas music during your visit. The kids love to listen and sing-along to all of the classics!
I recommend that you bring along a few throw blankets to help stay warm…especially if the temperatures outside are cold. We like to put the windows down so we can get a better look at all of the pretty lights. Plus, if makes for better pictures too! Bringing along hot cocoa and a bag of popcorn is recommended too!
Here’s a few photographs for you to enjoy. Do you like going out to see the holiday lights in your neighborhood? Any good light displays near you?
I do enjoy going out to see the holiday lights. I am sure tht We would all have a lot of fun if we visited Hershey Sweet Lights.
We go to zoo lights every year and that is a drive through that is just stunning. We also enjoy walking through the botanical gardens where they do a beautiful display of lights. Good way to get into the spirit.
That is so many good suggestions…. blankets, hot chocolate, popcorn. They are prettier with the windows down. I know it is a good time for the family.
I love seeing all the houses decorated and lit up. There is a light display at a farm near us. I haven’t gone to it because I heard the there is so much traffic. It looks like Hershey does a beautiful display.
