Repurposing Twin-Pack Plastic Ketchup Connector Rings to Save Closet Space

November 8, 2021 by Shelly

Repurposing Twin-Pack Plastic Ketchup Rings to Save Closet SpaceWe purchased an older home 15 years ago with very small closets. One of the smallest closets is in our master bedroom. It’s so small that only my clothes hang inside it. My husband’s clothes hang in a closet in one of our guest bedrooms. I’ve seen linen closets bigger than my bedroom closet! Sigh.

With that said, we buy our name brand (Heinz) ketchup by the twin-pack. Every time we buy it the two bottles are connected together via a white plastic ring. I carefully remove the two bottles from the plastic wring and repurpose it in my closet. Say what? Yeah!

I place the ring over one of my hangers and then hang two more clothing items off of it (as shown in my photograph). There are little groves that my metal hanger fits right into so there’s no sliding around. I can hang 3 shirts or lightweight jackets in one space in my closet! Instead of 3 hangers side-by-side on the rod…I have 3 pieces of clothing hung vertically which saves me closet space.

So far, I’ve collected 6 of those rings and it’s working out perfectly for me. As a bonus, it saves them from being tossed into the trash and hitting the landfill. While it’s not fancy, nor beautiful…it gets the job done and costs me NOTHING extra other than the ketchup that I normally buy! Gotta love that!

Anyway, I wanted to share my closet space-saving HACK with the readers of the Two Classy Chics blog in case any of you come across those plastic rings on your Ketchup bottles. Don’t toss them out! They’re made out of thick plastic and can easily help you to save some closet space.

Another tip: If you have a lot of belts and scarves…attach those plastic rings to a hanger and thread your belts and scarves through them. They will hold them securely in place.

This is a great idea for saving space. However, I do not need that much ketchup.

Great ideal! I am lucky have a nice size closet with a double rack. After I retired I got rid of all of my office clothes, so I have lots of room.

I like this trick. It can hold the blouse that goes with a suit so you don’t have to look for it. It can group outfits together. Thank you for the trick.

That is a good trick. But that’s too much ketchup for one person.
