How to Have a Spa Day at Home

November 24, 2021 by Sam H.

Life can be stressful at times, but this should not cause too much of a problem. Why? The answer is because everyone feels stressed from time to time; there is always a lot to do and seemingly not enough hours in the day to get it all done. Add to this the additional pressures of this time of year when Christmas shopping and entertaining are included in the mix, and it’s no wonder that sometimes people can feel overwhelmed.

Of course, if this feeling goes on for too long, then it can be truly problematic and lead to a lot of health issues, both mental and physical. When this happens, you’ll need an expert’s help, but if this is just ‘standard’ stress, all you’ll need to do is make sure you take some time for yourself and relax a little. If you can do this, you’ll feel much calmer and ready to tackle your challenges head-on. One option is to give yourself a wonderful spa day at home; here are some ideas to make that happen.

How to Have a Spa Day at Home

A Restorative Bath

If you think about it in the abstract, soaking for an hour or so in a bathtub full of warm water might not seem to be that much fun, but when it comes to ideal ways to relax and calm yourself, a restorative bath can be exactly what’s needed. This is the best way to end or begin your at-home spa day, but it needs to be done in a certain way. This means:

* Drawing the water so that it’s just right (depending on how you like it – although too hot can raise your blood pressure and that’s not calming at all so be careful)
* Turn off the lights and light candles
* Play your favorite music
* Add some essential oils or bubble bath to the tub

This – or something similar – will allow you to really enjoy the water and the experience of having some alone time. Why not add some herbal tea to sip or a glass of wine if you prefer? After you get out of the water, make sure you put on a fluffy robe and some slippers so that you feel as though you’re in a real spa.

Have A Facial

Even if you’re short on time, you will want to do something for your face; after all, this is the part of the body that people see every day, so if you need your spa day to focus on just one aspect of your body, it’s best to choose your face. If your face looks healthy, you’ll feel healthy, and you’ll gain some confidence too.

Get together some things you wouldn’t normally use to make this event a special one. You can even make your own moisturizers and facial scrubs using luxury products (or just items you find at home if you’re on a budget). Once everything is clean and feeling fresh, give yourself a microcurrent facial to finish things off perfectly. You should be able to see a difference in the mirror already.

Have A Mani/Pedi

The other area of your body that people can always see is your hands, so why not give yourself a manicure? Plus, while you’re doing this, you could give yourself a manicure as well. There is something very mindful about this process – keep the music playing and the lights down low if you want to, and let the Mani-Pedi work you’re doing take over your thoughts. When you’re not thinking about anything else – including the things that are stressing you out and causing you tension in life – you’ll automatically be able to relax.

    This is a great idea. It would be both a lot of fun and so relaxing. It would also cost much less!

    I know I always feel better after a pedicure. Doing it at home would be great and think of the money I will save.
