My family loves homemade applesauce especially ones that have fruits mixed-in. Just last week I made a batch of peach applesauce which was delicious! Making your own is an easy process, especially when you use your slow cooker to cook down the apples and fruits. You can make it as sweet as you like or leave it unsweetened.
Homemade Peach Applesauce Recipe with Tips
12 Fresh Apples, Peeled and Cored. Chopped into Pieces
4 Fresh Peaches, Peeled, Pit Removed and Chopped into Pieces
Fruit Fresh, Fruit Protector
Water
Granulated Sugar
Prepare apples and place into the slow cooker along with the chopped peaches. Sprinkle Fruit Fresh, Fruit Protector on top. Use a measuring cup to add a little bit of water. You only need enough water to cover the fruits…as they cook down they will make more juice.
I cook them on the low setting for 2-3 hours. They will be very soft but still holding their shape. Use a slotted spoon and “fish” them out of the water. Place into a blender container. They will be hot, so work carefully. Once the container is 3/4 of the way full…blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl. Continue until you have all of your apples and peaches blended.
While they’re still hot (in the bowl) you’ll want to add granulated sugar according to your own taste buds. Because they’re still hot, it will help the sugar to dissolve. Stir to blend. Pour into a saucepan and simmer over low heat for an additional 5 minutes. Turn off heat. Let cool.
Tips: You’ll want to refrigerate it for up to 5 days. If you feel you can’t eat it all within 5 days you can pour it into freezer containers and freeze for up to 3 months. Just thaw in the refrigerator overnight. You can use this same method to make Peach Applesauce and do it in large batches for home canning. Once you have all of your applesauce prepared you’ll want to process it in a water bath canner in pint size jars for 20 minutes, leaving a 1/2″ headspace.

This sounds like delicious change from regular applesauce. It would be great by itself or added to some baked goods.
Sounds so much better than store bought and a good way to use extra fruit. Looks so delicious and healthy.
That looks delicious! I can see using it in cake recipes.
Sounds and looks so good. I will make it with only 3 or 4 apples and I make it in the oven. I like chunky
This sounds so good. I would like to have some. Thank you for the recipe.
Peach applesauce sounds wonderful. I like that I could make it in my crock pot.
