How many of you enjoy eating subs and hoagies? My family really enjoys them especially during the warmer months of the year. We have two local sub shops that we like to buy from (small, locally owned businesses) and typically stay away from franchise chains. Sorry, but we enjoy supporting small businesses and we feel their food is fresher, and better.
What kind of hoagies do you enjoy eating? Hot or cold ones? Do you tend to buy them or make them at home? I do both!
My husband Big E likes a fully loaded Italian sub. I personally enjoy a good turkey and cheese. My kids like the hot ones with meatballs and a lot of cheese. The entire family will gobble up a good Philly Cheesesteak too. One thing we don’t like is any flavors that incorporate fish or seafood. Yuck. Just haven’t found any of those that we like.
I would love to hear about your likes and dislikes when it comes to hoagies and subs. What do you like on them (in them) and what can you do without? Any favorite local places that you enjoy visiting?
I like all kinds and would make them at home. I would toast the bun because it brought out the flavor.
Years ago there was this little sub place that made the best steak hoagies and meatball subs. They were only 5 minutes from work , they made ever order the way you wanted it.

I love Italian subs. I used to make them at work all the time.
I like all kinds, hot or cold but no seafood for me. I like lots of condiments like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles…. all that makes it great to me. If it is hot… I want the bun toasted.
